You think God is testing you?

We go through life. Have a great family. Have a status type of job or thriving business. And someday, things start crumbling. Marriage or personal relationships are breaking up. Unemployment in horizon and an insecure feeling of losing a steady job or the business is not cutting it and losing money and deciding whether to close the doors. Is God testing us? No,. No, No. God is not testing us. God is love. God is light. Always eternal and always good. All the challenges are our earthly journey, possessions and attachments. Since our creator has blessed us with a free will and choices, we’ve made decisions to live a certain way of life and sometimes setbacks hit. In fact our faith in the divine spirit must be strengthened in times of short comings. The setbacks are the doings of earthly egos, dependence for our survival and attachments for materialism or relationships.

I’ve experienced real estate downfall two times, as a homeowner. I’ve seen high unemployment twice among professionals such as technology, education and labor, as well as corporate restructure, creating more unemployment and small businesses going under couple times. I’ve seen several failed marriages ending up in divorces due to finances or lack of interaction, as well as other problems. I’ve observed three wars. Easy to blame God. One thing we must learn is to let go or cut lose our addiction to materialism and fearful or insecure  relationships that are not loving. What I’ve seen in several instances is, many cling to their marriages because of children, finances and fear of unknown. And in this process, God is million miles away for many.

Know full well that God is right where you are. Within you. God is not testing you. Just acknowledge and be aware of God’s presence in you. God loves you. Pray and meditate. Act on your prayers. Listen to God from within and take action for the results you are seeking. While you are pursuing and strengthening your spiritual self, monitor and watch your steps and avoid getting into situations and circumstances that got you in hot water. God is your friend. He is with you all the time for you to be happy, joyful, kind and peaceful.

Be a light to others

We talk about role models in our walk of life. Here I am talking about being a light to others. A simple smile goes a long way. Our inner awareness of compassion, kindness, when shared, is appreciated. Its interesting when we set a pace, many will see the actions, and they in turn shed their light towards others. Reaching out to others, such as our family members, friends, neighbors and communities goes a long way. Lending a hand or volunteering to help, is very noble. When we have this inner passion and strength, we do shine. Everyone is capable to shine. The key is to turn the light on, from within. The people who shine are confident in themselves and show the inner divine presence which is joy and love that circulates.

In our own communities, we have problems such as communicating with law and order, fear of crime, a need to help those that are going hungry, unemployed, loneliness among elderly people, lonely neighbors, transportation challenges, etc. Instead of expecting others to step forward to light up and lead, be the person that you can step forward with a smile and light on your face. We cannot depend on government and state agencies for all the challenges that takes place in our communities.

God works through all of us. It’s in the knowing or self-awareness of the challenges we are seeing around us, that light be shined. When we glow with light, we do shine. When we turn on the light, the light of smile, the initiative of caring and kindness, seeing people with love and joy, it sure catches on and others will follow. Visualize and imagine, God’s light when turned on by thousands of people in our nation and around the world, how happy, joyful and peaceful our world will be. By being a light to others, we are a testimony to God’s creation of our being. We are all connected, and the energy and vibrations from each one of us will glow brighter, when the light is turned on.

Give thanks to God for your family, friends and prosperity

Some of us may have money and power. But, that does not bring happiness and joy in our lives. What brings love, joy and happiness are family, friends and a sense and feeling of prosperity. I’ve observed in many instances in our materialistic world, that when we are constantly wanting and desiring materialistic things, ego fulfillment, many of us put God or divine spirit in the backdrop. Instead we should give thanks to God by praying for having family, friends and being prosperous. We can sense deep down a feeling and a sense of security when we experience love from our family and friends. For some reason or other, when we “feel secured and comfortably prosperous”, God the spirit is not recognized or hidden in the background.

Time to time, I collect canned food for the homeless people at homeless shelters. Also, very poor people come to the shelter to collect canned food and bread in a bag for their families. I look at their faces. They are happy to get food in the bag for their families. I pray that these poor people better their lives. The homeless people in the shelters are getting help from the contributors and donors. The shelter managers constantly ask for donations for money, to keep these shelters open. And in Las Vegas, the city of lights, there is lack and prosperity. Amongst prosperous casinos with so much wealth, that can be seen from the shelters, there is homelessness. God will guide the angels to help and guide the homeless, and that is through ones awareness and enlightenment from within.

I thank God for what I have and with gratitude. A wonderful wife, shelter and food, friends, my sons and grand children, wonderful health. For me inner peace, harmony, and a sense of well-being is important. I encourage rejoicing, kindness and caring for each other. We are in this world to experience our created heaven on this earth. I encourage praying and meditation, communicating with God and listening to our inner voice from within. Feel God’s blessings.

Find a balance in a material world

Materialism - boxes The first 18 years of my life I grew up in India in a Christian family and in a Methodist boarding school. And all the years in my adult life I have been living in USA. So, I grew up having less materialist “stuff” in India, and more “stuff” as I began my adult life in USA. I’ve found balancing materialism to my way of life is more healthier, peaceful and harmonious. We are operating from a free will and decisions making in our everyday life. We are blessed for these attributes given by God (or higher spirit or divine). What is more challenging is obsessing with possessions and getting addicted year after year. Somehow many of us lost the spiritual life that is in awareness of love and caring for others.

Materialism - Ethical Materialism does make many of us self-centered, but, there are also some who are caring of their loved ones and neighbors as well as those who do not have anything. The more materialistic we get, the less spiritual we become. I mean, keeping God at bay, leading to isolation, separateness from people who need help or support. When we are God centered, we do pray and meditate for others and their well-being. Don’t get me wrong about the rich people. There are some rich people who do care, but, there is still homelessness and hunger in our own society. Imagine a small group of multi-millionaires in each city pooled some money with an awareness of eliminating homelessness.

Materialism - the stuff We must pray for prosperity and abundance for our residents in our communities. Which means each person uses God’s attributes to use their skills, knowledge, decisions and faith, to better themselves. The more we reach out to others, God blesses us in various unexpected ways. We must learn to share. God or the divine spirit wants us to care for others in need in our communities and beyond our own country. There is true joy and happiness when we reach out to others.

God bless this food

Hunger - poor persons Just when I start eating my food, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, I give thanks and acknowledge God silently. It’s an inner spiritual awareness. I am so fortunate to eat 3 meals. I pray and meditate for others who do not have food to eat for the day. I pray that a good Samaritans would step in and care for the hungry. Here we are in the 21st century with all the high-tech and advanced agriculture and farming and still have worldwide hunger in several countries. Even in advanced countries like USA has hunger problems. One need to just drive through some “homeless corridors” near downtown areas and get the picture. Most advanced technological societies have problems of hunger too.

Hunger - homeless It’s the inner spiritual awareness, which is God-given, is awakened. Many do have compassion and kindness. But, many have a tendency to “leave it to other guy or gal” mentality, to feed the hungry. Ofcourse, there are some places with beliefs (devotion) in USA who care for these hungry people. God bless those shelters who provide food for the hungry. God works through people, and that’s through the awakening of the spirit from the self, to reach out the less fortunate and concerns of others. I’ve witnessed watching tremendous amount of reaching out to the hungry people during Holiday season, especially in December month. We must realize that these hungry souls do need to eat and have shelter beyond holiday month. With our spirits being awakened, we will help and reduce hunger in our own communities by caring the unfortunate.

Hungry - children reaching for food God also loves the hungry and the homeless. Next time when you see some people begging for food, carry some canned soup and energy bars in your car. It helps. Who knows God is sending some begging people in disguise to check and see if you can give to feed that hungry soul with compassion and love. Many in the 3rd world countries, such as in Africa and some Asian countries, many go hungry for days. Please pray and meditate for those hungry souls to be taken care of. Pray for sharing and applying our technological resources to care for the hungry. Pray for a giving heart for all the people in our communities to reduce suffering.

Are you listening to your inner voice?

Listening words  We keep trudging along in everyday walk of life. We have needs, desires, wants and want to fulfill our motives. We want joy, fulfillment, inner contentment, compassion, peace and harmony within ourselves and with others. We pray, meditate and ask God (or the infinite, Higher Source, Lord, Jesus Christ, etc) for financial prosperity, excellent health and great relationships. Pretty soon we discover that the answers are within, not “out there”. Are you open to listening from within? Your vibes, your vibrations, “your gut”, your intuition? Do you trust your inner instincts, which is God communicating with you?

Listen to genie within  From my own experience over the years, I let opportunities in jobs, learning another profession, even romantic relationships pass by (I am married to Denise now). Didn’t listen to my inner voice, but kept on moving doing “same old” things or same old routine with expectations. Than comes a time to seriously make a commitment to change and make a decision to change and accept opportunities what life has to offer me. I went through inner probing via meditation and talking to couple of trusted friends.

Listen to God - Stop and look   In a way, we must be “ready” to jump in or take risks to step in.  I’ve witnessed several singles in relationships delaying marriage because of waiting for a “right” partner to come through or questioning and doubting whether the relationships they are in, is the right one? This boils down to inner trust and not clear what their heart and mind says. In this instance, it’s a good idea to sit down in prayer and meditation and ask God for guidance.

If you are not sure of the feedback on the concerned issues from within, talk to a trusted friend or couple friends. Make sure these friends have a positive outlook on life and they themselves are confident, and encouraging. You are still the decision maker to choose all the choices you have at your disposal. Prayer and meditation is a great relaxer and brings inner harmony and answers.

Listen to the inner voice So, listen from within. Listen to what your instincts and gut tells you of what you seek and desire to experience. Communicate to God via prayer and meditation. Be open for answers that are revealed to you. Follow up with the clues. Try not to be wishy-washy with the answers. Check it out. The God who created the universe is loving and friendly for you to pursue your journey for your fulfillment, joy, compassion, love, kindness, peace and understanding.

Allowing your way of life to flourish to happiness, joy, compassion and love

Allow - Why does God allow evil We come to this world in free spirit and are molded by influence of parents, siblings, elders, teachers, religions, education, life styles, cultures, friends, peers, etc. We have the uniqueness about each one of us and with inspiration and motivation we are destined to succeed in this life. God or higher power or divine spirit or in Christianity Jesus Christ,  has created us with the free will and choices that determine how we choose to live our lives. Ofcourse, we are living in a human world with laws, regulations, restrictions, morality, man-made religious beliefs, working life, family, friends,  leisure and live the life we choose to live. As we keep moving in our everyday living, responsibility and accountability are in order. When we go the “wrong way” or “evil way”, that means we “missed the mark”. God intended for us to live happily and joyfully and with compassion in our hearts.

Allowing - Grudge in head As we live our daily lives, sometimes things don’t seem to go as planned and interact with others such as neighbors, friends, family members and strangers. In some instances things don’t go our way, which creates a disconnect and disharmony with another person or persons. When we live from the aspect of egos, we don’t allow ourselves to live freely, and keep grudges towards others in our mind. We are not peaceful and harmonious with ourselves. We must learn to release grudges from our head and learn to forgive and forget by way of compassion. Its healthy when we live peacefully with a kind heart.

Allow - What you allow-what will continue When we allow others to come into our lives, we do open ourselves to them and they to us. It’s like give and take. We build trust in ourselves and the people that we managed to allow them into our lives via interaction, friendship and mutual understanding. As I mentioned earlier, we have choices and free will in our make up to live the life we choose. We are the masters of our destiny. One thing to keep in mind is, we are social animals, and most of us aspire to be with others, those that we allowed to interact with us. By the way, God is always there for us to acknowledge. It’s the sense of our awareness to allow God to be part of our daily life. Treat God as a friend, and he will treat you lovingly and kindly. God will not fail you or me. God wants you and I to be joyful, happy, loving, peaceful, compassion and kind in heart.

Allow - Life to surprise me  In our daily lives, when we allow things to happen with an open mind and not be critical on ourselves, we are bound to come up with ideas that make us happy and contentment. I also suggest to share with family members and friends the solutions or ideas you found, provided they are supportive of you in a positive sense. Remember, the universe is vast and open and willing to assist and support you for the asking. Give thanks and appreciation to God for the fruits he has in store for you. It’s for the asking and believe as if you have received. Keep your heart and mind open to experience prosperity, happiness, joy and compassion.
