God bless this food

Hunger - poor persons Just when I start eating my food, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, I give thanks and acknowledge God silently. It’s an inner spiritual awareness. I am so fortunate to eat 3 meals. I pray and meditate for others who do not have food to eat for the day. I pray that a good Samaritans would step in and care for the hungry. Here we are in the 21st century with all the high-tech and advanced agriculture and farming and still have worldwide hunger in several countries. Even in advanced countries like USA has hunger problems. One need to just drive through some “homeless corridors” near downtown areas and get the picture. Most advanced technological societies have problems of hunger too.

Hunger - homeless It’s the inner spiritual awareness, which is God-given, is awakened. Many do have compassion and kindness. But, many have a tendency to “leave it to other guy or gal” mentality, to feed the hungry. Ofcourse, there are some places with beliefs (devotion) in USA who care for these hungry people. God bless those shelters who provide food for the hungry. God works through people, and that’s through the awakening of the spirit from the self, to reach out the less fortunate and concerns of others. I’ve witnessed watching tremendous amount of reaching out to the hungry people during Holiday season, especially in December month. We must realize that these hungry souls do need to eat and have shelter beyond holiday month. With our spirits being awakened, we will help and reduce hunger in our own communities by caring the unfortunate.

Hungry - children reaching for food God also loves the hungry and the homeless. Next time when you see some people begging for food, carry some canned soup and energy bars in your car. It helps. Who knows God is sending some begging people in disguise to check and see if you can give to feed that hungry soul with compassion and love. Many in the 3rd world countries, such as in Africa and some Asian countries, many go hungry for days. Please pray and meditate for those hungry souls to be taken care of. Pray for sharing and applying our technological resources to care for the hungry. Pray for a giving heart for all the people in our communities to reduce suffering.

To experience joy, serve others

Serving - reaching out with hand Many times I hear, I am not happy or do not find it in myself. The key is to get out from within and bring joy to others. In our society we have a tendency to say me, me, me. It’s a form of selfishness and are consumed from within. When we feel in-secured within us and look for outward fulfillment, we get obsessed to posses. The central theme being not aware of our spirituality. As individuals, God (Infinite Source, Lord, Savior, etc) has given all the attributes in us. We are driven by egos and distancing from spiritual awareness. When we ease our minds of wanting and not obsessed with it, we definitely can shift the energies from inward to outwards to help and care for others. Ofcourse we tend to help our immediate family loved ones.

Serving others Reaching to others with kindness and a willing to assist, brings us a sense of joy, inner satisfaction and our spirits rise. Even making simple phone calls to seniors that are living by themselves feel elated and knowing somebody out there cares and reaches out to them. Remember everyone gets old. We need to be aware that others need human interaction as well, especially seniors who live alone or who lost a spouse recently. I also suggest to just stop by at senior centers and let the staff know that you are there to greet and meet the seniors.

Serving others with a heart Offer a prayer and a smile to those that are lonely, especially the seniors. It’s great for the soul. There are others who need interaction and caring too. Like the homeless shelters, patients in hospitals who do not have any relatives to visit them. When we reach out to others, somehow our own problems tend to vanish, and brings healing. We are also given the opportunity to look into ourselves, and know we are blessed with good health, prosperity and a kind heart. It gives us a great joy to share our goodness and smiles with others, who really need it.

We are living on a borrowed time and for a purpose

Purpose - spirit eagle and clouds Here we are breathing, drinking, eating, working, learning, talking, laughing, crying, smiling, sleeping, creating, loving, caring, sharing, helping, etc. We’ve come into this life as physical body and having a human experience. our physical lives are temporary. We are a miracle. We are created from the spirit of life, beyond human understanding. Our creator (God, Lord, Almighty, Infinite Source, etc) has a purpose for us. Our journey in life has begun with having a free will and choices in life to pursue our journey. Sometimes in our journey we do take an ego ride or a trip. Which means a power trip or a journey not in conjunction with our alignment with heart, mind and body.

Purpose in life What do we do to get back to inner contentment and along the way assist and support loved ones, friends, neighbors and strangers locally and strangers in international lands? We think to have a “successful” life to be very prosperous (with money) and stash it away for the future years for “retirement.” In the meantime we neglect to care for our own selves in areas of health, time with the family, and self reflection. We worry about the future, instead of doing the best as we go along in this life journey.  How about serving others in the capacity as volunteers? Those that need support and help time wise. By offering to serve others is very noble and experience inner contentment, joy and in process the persons receiving help and support are thankful and a smile on their face.

Purpose - serving others We want to live the best in our physical and emotional life and make a difference. Loving committed relationships is another area we always can improve. Have you said “I love you” to your spouse or to your children or to a partner? In this physical plane, many of us pick up unhealthy and unpleasant habits. Have you ever questioned why I am eating certain foods that are not healthy? Have you ever questioned what makes you angry at others or getting impatient at a grocery line or at a highway when it is congested? When we inquire into “getting to know” ourselves we are learning and growing and we mature to live a life of harmonious peaceful way of life.

You are abundant

Abundance of tree During holidays season, such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve, etc, many people are depressed or lonely especially among singles and couples with relationship problems. For somehow they are not happy with themselves. They can’t wait to get the holiday season quickly vanish and hoping for January to come as soon as possible. Realize that you and I are a miracle. We have been blessed abundantly with good health, loving family and developed friendships. Also, developed working relationships at work environments and at businesses. The key here is to be grateful and thankful for what we have. When we look around us, we are bombarded with materialism and wanting to keep up with neighbors and peers.

Abundance mother earth Acknowledge God has given you energy, good health, loved ones and friends. We might want to have more of materialism because of our ego needs for fulfillment. The ego needs are short-lived. Have you ever thanked for air that you are breathing? Cheap water from the reservoir you are drinking to quench your thirst? 3 meals a day? A bed to sleep? Loved ones and friends around you? A car or bus to move around? You are blessed with abundant in your daily life and experiencing prosperity in your life. There are few who do not see the abundance in their life, such as the homeless or relationships gone bad. But, there are solutions to get back to normalcy and ask for them. Friends and even outside agencies are willing to help and guide the resource seeker for bettering their lives.

Abundace of prayer When we acknowledge and recognize how we are blessed with abundant prosperity within us, we are experiencing harmony, happiness and peace. Do thank God for that state of existence and feeling. Once we recognize to enjoy what we already have, bless them and enjoy to the fullest. We have to think in terms of prosperous consciousness, not just wanting more to fulfill the ego, which is temporary. Take time to bless the abundance you enjoy everyday with joy and with a smile. Meditate and pray on abundance and thank God for your inner contentment. When you act and project your happiness, harmony and joy, others see you what an abundant life you’ve been living and experiencing.

Angels among us

Angels helping people In the midst of economic, social, spiritual and psychological challenges in our daily life, there are angels stepping forward to alleviate suffering. The angels donate their time, financial resources, food and love. They are inspired by inner guidance, which is God in action. They are led by spiritually from within. They see and observe the helpless and needy and are moved by their inner spirit to help alleviate the suffering. It’s the inner knowing and acknowledgement of the people needing help and assistance. The angels do not expect in return. they give from their heart. lately, I have been seeing few homeless people begging for money while I am driving on some major street corners in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many of them just standing around with a cardboard sign “Homeless”, “Hungry”, and “God Bless”.

Angel with wings I do carry a phone number of Las Vegas Rescue Mission in my car and advise the homeless person to get some help instead of begging on the street corner or at a super market parking lot. Few times I have seen some homeless men at fast food joints parking lots.  Some of these men have mental and psychological problems and neglect to receive care. Occasionally I see few women asking for money at parking lots. In many USA states there is non-emergency phone number. For Las Vegas it is 211. When the number is dialed, the caller gets a visit from the help provider and refers them to appropriate agency for food, shelter, clothing or medical care. The helper even comes to meet on a street where the homeless person is standing. Some of these homeless people are reluctant to seek help from the helping agencies.

Angel helping hand I also carry in my car some energy bars and soup cans (with easy to remove the lid) to distribute to homeless when I see them at street corners. I found the dollar stores have affordable energy bars and soup cans. The angels are known to volunteer at homeless shelters in the dining room or at their thrift discount stores. The angels are inspired and motivated to reach out to others. Everybody is a prospective angel. If you currently are not participating or involved helping the homeless who are hungry, why not jump in and reach out for them? It’s great for the soul and the receiver is thankful. It helps the community as well.
